No license failage![]()
oh thats right you goon! who are you going with?
the car starts once again thanks to auto electrics australia and the bloke who sold me a genuine denso 22r starter! (replaced the end housing with the one from my car)
Yuss! Looked good on sunday man :-)
and now that the car runs it has an incredibly loud clunk from the diff when you change gears quickly... trailing arms, sway bar etc are all tight. the diff feels very hot after use too. *sigh*
well trailing arms were tight, just one wasn't actually connected together... left upper trailing arm, whiteline adjustable. im pretty sure thread shouldn't look like this:
i bought the car with them installed so im trying to find out when they were installed by the previous owner. i emailed whiteline and a chap emailed be back straight away informing that this is a failure and isn't good enough. they possibly could be under warranty (i doubt it) but if not he will give me another pair discounted as "we still want you to have faith in our products and how we stand by them." so kudos to whiteline!

Looks like the lock nut must have loosened off (or not tightened in the first place) and the repeated loadings on the thread combined with the slop from not being tight have just raped the thread out over time. Or at least, that's how it looks to me.
Don't think you'd be eligible for a warranty if that is the case, since it'd be the fault of the installer rather than the product; but if they're willing to give you a discounted one anyway, I guess that's still a win.![]()
Get me a discounted set aswel haha
thats exactly whats happened. it like a smooth bore! the nut seemed to have some type of thread lock on it so i assume they were done properly. from what i can tell the nut has loosened, somehow, unevenly and thread itself. the nut is near impossible to turn freely. i would say that under the load of the car and movement that the nut has been pushed back and threaded itself on whilst allowing all the movement to strip away the rest of the thread. whiteline only have a year warranty however they seem happy to replace them at a lower cost so no complaints here!
haha im sure they'll be cool with that!
