Why do you think that? in phase 1 it will be heavier than a std 86.
Steering ease does not really come down to weight. It comes down to scrub radius, ackerman, steering arm length, steering ratio, etc, etc, weight is rather irrelivant in initial set up of steering. And when you have nearly 1500mm of front track, and 18inches of rubber to turn, a bit of power assistance can't be a bad thing ay.
