asus are the best brand...i work in electrical retail...

value, quality and aftermarket sales support asus is superior for sure...

recently i personally found a fault with quite a few toshibas in a particular range of laptops...not one or 2...basically the whole release...toshiba customer/retail support blatantly lied about the fault when questioned saying it must have been user/external software...spoke directly to a region officer and he confirmed my finding saying that it was currently being assessed to determine whether a driver upgrade/patch would fix it or whether a recall was needed...

hp customer support isnt much better...compaq are a cheap nasty budget spec end of the HP brand...

dell on the other hand have grown quite somewhat over the past few years...but having personal experience with one within the family id never bother...

sony are awesome quality...but also fetch a premium pricewise...

apple are quite ideal if u are computer savy...as a newb relearning the operating system isnt all that easy...generally people will know themselves when or if they need an apple...or they'll want one to be "cool" the new range of i core macbooks are questionable at best of time...having quite high processor operating temperatures and in many cases causing problems...

any other questions drop me a pm

had my macbook for over 3 years and never had one issue with it. used mac's and PC's for the last 12 years for work and home, would never go past a mac again.

well pretty much the same story, ive never had issues with my pc,
your fooling yourself if you think an apple is anything other than a personal computer.

they used to run in house components, but not its the same components as any other company, crammed into a smaller housing, with some
clear acrylic over the top, a heftier price tag, and a DIFFERENT os, not better, not worse, just different.

I just cant see any gains. My newest lap top cost 300, its a toshiba nb200, i use it for uni and random internetting around the house. Apple cant do that for me can they. They cant even do that for 1200 dollars.
My other lap top is almost 4 years old and has never faulted once. The one before that was about 3 years old and never faulted but was sadly stolen.

The difference between apple owners and "pc" owners, is apple owners parents buy their computers.

my bank statement tends to suggest otherwise

totally agreed with the price comments tho.

i bought an asus thingy of ebay bout 3 years ago, its been great and i still use it every now and then to watch movies and music thats still on it. was a great buy for $800, and its still fine, just the wear and tear on the power cord.

i can still use both platforms and i think they both have their benifits, at the moment tho, my apple gets my lovin.

I used apple for HD Audio recordings, and they are perfect, other guys tried PC for this and they just didnt cope.
everyone i know who has a pc has had issues, their prone to a tonn of virus's.

if its for word processing and internet, then PC's are ok but for creative stuff... photo editing, audio recording, graphic design etc. mac's win. its industry standard, no one uses PC's in that world.

and btw i brought my own mac...

Yes Ryan even I agree that apple computers are overly expensive but the operaing system IS that good that it's worth it unless osx could be ran on a custom built computer then there would be no need to pay the high price on macs.
