MY AE86 BUILD

Should be a single idle threaded rod near or under where the cable joins the throttle linkage. stops the main throttle linkage from closing too far. Look for a snap on rod it will be associated with that in between 2 and 3 throttle.
Im guessing now you have unbalanced throttles.
how do you feel the response is with a 2871r on a 4ag ? do you think it would be laggy on a 92gze smallport with no cams running 98ron
I would personally say its not laggy making 15 psi @ 4000rpm, the 4ag engines are very drivable off boost, however I havent driven a stock engine with the 2871 hanging off it, mine has custom grind cams to by kelford to suit the turbo and engine specs, I have the quad throttles, over size valves, solid buckets, heavy duty valve springs and some mild port work. This preformed well on 98octane making 234kw on 20psi @ 8000rpm
I see the AE92 4AGZE being the stronger of the generations over engineered to compensate for earlier design faults, oil squirters meaty con rods and the forged pistons running the slightly higher compression along with the increased air velocity with the small port design, I think they cut a bit of the beef out of the AE101 GZE rods and pistons making them lighter/weaker. On a stock motor I would upgrade at least the valve springs, Ive seen them develop "float" at higher rpm with boost this could have been due to age and general wear and tare though. Also upgrading rod bolts is another good investment for reliability.
For a street driven car I would say the 2860 "disco potato" would be a good option, however the 2971r is more or less a high flow version of this and you dont sacrifice much running the larger turbo using the .64 rear housing. I have ported the internal waste gate and left a square edge at the top and smoothed/channeled the outlet to improve the flow of exhaust gases and boost control. Providing you have a fuel system and ecu up to the task with a capable person to tune it I'd say strap one on, wind the boost in and release the horses haha
People may disagree with what I have said feel free to comment, but proof is in the pudding my stock bottom end AE92 GZE loves life![]()

Yep E85, still on the stock internals with fresh bearings, steel ring set and cometic metal head gasket, there is more in it, the timing was out a tooth Ive since fixed this and its waiting to be retuned. 260 is more than enough though!
Also I had a photo shoot for a magazine article, Daim aka Skid_KE70 was there too

hows this thing coming along, decided on a tank/lines/pumps for e85 yet ?
also what type of rx7 injectors are you using and did they fit straight onto 4agze fuel rail ?
It's going well, had a few dramas with the retaining clips that hold the clutch fork the throw out bearing carrier, the keep coming off. I plan to change to an eccentric slave cylinder like t56 to eliminate the problem...
I'm still using the standard tank with alphagomer flex force 6 hoses push lock -AN fittings, using a peirburge high volume low pressure lift pump to a 2lt surge tank, using the inline Bosch 044. I've been putting a bottle of injector cleaner in each tank of fuel to help provide lubrication to the pumps.
I went injector dynamics 725 injectors to suit the standard 4a fuel rail, all seems to be working well!
