what are 4 pucks? are they for better response or just lighter?

just go somethin cheap, like exedy sports organic or somethin, im sure u'd rather bust a clutch rather than a gearbox.

as for a four puck or 3 puck or even 5, usually better frictional material, causing much more bite, very little choice in between engaged and disengaged basically in or out.

and yes they're stronger, release quicker and bite alot harder, why are they designed in that configuration, im not sure, my guess would be a normal clutch plate with that sort of metal or brass frictional material, would have to much frictional are and would sheer the plate in half, not sure its just a guess

Im using a very heavy race standard pressure plate with an exedy organic clutch plate, takes up hard but can drive it like a normal car, but it will chew clutch out every few months, maybe its just my driving tho lol

I'm running an exedy cushioned button in mine, sprung center etcc. Works well for a daily/thrasher. Bit of getting used to after running a heavy duty organic for a while. No slippage and you can still sorta ride it when need be, had it in for a few months now.

exedy has a big backing by the drift community

hd great for street, buttons are very annoyin for street, but great for track

cushioned buttons are alright for street, i have done alot of driving in a 200kw CA18 powered N13 pulsar and it has a Cushioned Ceramic Clutch and it is fine just driving around, a little more effort but deffinetly worth it once you put your foot down

I have a 4 puck xtreme, but i wouldn't recommend it... mine had to be removed and exchanged after 1 week of use as the splines on the clutch plate were so loose on the gearbox output shaft, and i just removed one from touge 205's car with a broken clutch plate, one of the springs fell out after the metal around them cracked.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Just Half Steppin @ Dec 3 2007, 10:39 PM) </div>Pucks have nothing to do with strength or grab... they are for better cooling efficiency... the grab and strength is all to do with weather has a sprung center and the compound it's made of...

but i guess better cooling will help keep it together/strong

here's something i prepared earlier...

someone PLEASE make this video sticky it's the best video explaining clutches EVER...
