Wheel nuts for SSR mark 2. Where to buy them?

Hi Guys,

Im having real trouble sourcing some wheel nuts for my ssr mk 2's. Apparently thet require a M12 x 1.5 pitch shank nut with a shank OD of 17mm.

The pic below explains.



Who on this forum runs SSR mk 2's or similar and where did they source their wheel nuts from. I have been told that i need to get them custom made as they are extremenly hard to find and only sold in japan.

I'd get the holes on the rims drilled out so you can use normal wheel nuts. I had this exact same problem (finding wheel nuts for my MK3's) and I ended up getting the holes drilled out by a rim modifying shop. It cost me about $60 for the pair to be modified. Personally I think this is the best way to go about this problem..just imagine if for some reason one of these special wheel nuts snaps in the future...you'll have to track one down and wait for it from Japan again, unless you buy a few more spare. Then again if you found yourself in this situation you'd still have to find a way to drill out the shank bit of the nut if it does snap inside your rim. My 2c, totally up to you though. If you do go ahead with the special wheel nuts, Yahoo Japan Auctions maybe your best bet.

Nice Products FTW. Thanks for your help guy's. You have saved me alot of money. The part number for ssr's is M300. Its a shank nut with a 17.1mm shank diameter and 19mm depth. It is absolutely perfect and in a large abundance i.e. super cheap, autobahn etc all stock them.

I just saved myself over $140 bux because the next option was to drill out the holes and then buy new nuts.
