    Question SR20 pulley/balancer question

    hey guys,
As i dont run p/s or a/c in my 86 ,and i would like a bit more clearance between the crank pulley and my fan shroud.
Is it possible to get these (a/c & p/s)removed off the pulley by machining ?
Or does anyone know of a aftermarket single pulley as i only need to run the water pump.?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Shaun

i just machined the front pulley off my 4age crank pulley. no problems

im sure there are aftermarket pulleys tho, you can even buy them as a kit with the alt and waterpump pulleys too

Hey lazy have you realized all the legit players rock 2 ltrs and gone to a sr20?? He he

Only problem I could see with machining down a stock one is if they have removed material to balance it on the part you take off

But sr have a huge after market support so I'm sure single lightweight pulley would be easy to come across

has your toyota ones got rubber in them?
From what ive read so far their calling it a balancer, but i cant see the harm in making it lighter if im putting a lightened flywheel at the other end?
can anyone suggest someone in the brisbane area to machine it down?

Got it sorted. Getting the front pulley machined off and checked so it's balanced when spinning.
    Thanks guys.
