Haha yep i'm pretty sure it's the same deal with mine. Had a 4agte in it before and seems like it's just a chop and solder loom. Anyway that ezwiring stuff looks interesting! Are you going to wire your car up yourself? I might have a go at it but i'll most likely fail and surrender it to someone qualified lol.

Hey man, yeah the dash is pretty shonky. It's got black dash trims now though, not too sure if it's been changed since you inspected it. It's now running standard shocks with chopped springs and a 'jdm front brake setup' apparently, no rx7 brakes unfortunately lol. Phuoc was the guy i bought it off

On another note, does anyone recommend any specfic brand of coilovers? I'm looking for a set but not too sure what to get. Looking for something not too cheap and nasty but not too expensive either..

Haha yeah let me know how you go man, if its straightforward maybe ill do the same.

Guard work was done by previous owner. I guess he didnt want the wheels to rub whilst using the flared guards. I was originally planning to replace the front fenders and get new rear quarters welded on, but decided to keep it and get flared arches instead.

Plans for the car are to restore it, repaint it, and enjoy it! Haha not looking at big hp builds etc, might just source out a 7rib 4age and rebuild it, maybe mild cams but thats it. Underpowered is fun! Lol

Thats cool dude. Doing same thing but mainly for track but still building it clean etc, cant help myself. If you want to do it from ground up l would get it soda blastered. That way you know the extent of the rust dude. Thats what l did and its worth it rather then hunting for it under lawyers of paint etc. Also he sprays it in etch primer as well

    Ok, bit of an update

Haven't really been working on the car that much, by the time i get home it's too dark and cold and i don't really have a garage space so the car is outside. I've managed to weld my gear stick to a more comfortable position now (was sticking out about 30cm past the top of the shift boot before)

I've just paid for a whole heap of stuff (diffs, lights, trims etc) and going to buy an engine off ryan (Suter) in the coming month or so. Now im kinda broke its hard to build a car on apprentice wages

I've figured out i'm going to get the engine, steering and suspension and driveline in, rebuilt and installed, then take it to an auto elec to get my wiring issues sorted out, then rego it. Bodywork can come afterwards lol

    Many question guys!

My ISCV has no lines connected to it.. When i start up the car, it literally struggles to stay alive when cold, you have to give it a bit of revs to help it stay on. But when it's at operating temp, the idle feels way better, sits at around 1k rpm, and doesn't feel like it's going to die.

    1) Question is, is the issue caused by no coolant flow through the iscv? If i was to plumb coolant lines back onto it, where do the other ends of the coolant lines sit?
    2) Ive heard that completely removing the ISCV module fixes the idle problem. I'm planning to run A/C in the future, what problems would i run into having a/c without the idle up control?
    3) Is this an AE86 4age fusebox?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks guys, sorry for the noob questions ahah

Yup that's an ae86 fuse box. Where's the relay of the 'EFI MAIN' ?

Yeh mate having no coolant running through it probably means it is seized. It opens up an air hole behind the butterfly to idle up when cold and closes it off as the coolant heats up, same sort of thing as a thermostat, but a lot of them seize so people just bung em off. You could try plumbing them back up but not sure where they run to on the engine side of things, I've always had carbs.

I have no idea... There are quite a bunch of other relays right in front of the fusebox, near the headlight, so im assuming it could be one of them. Going to get a new engine loom etc anyway and then take it to an auto elec. Sick of this dodgy cut and shut loom

thanks for the info mate! Ill try that, either ill block it off or buy/make a blocking off plate haha.

Do you know if it'll still idle ok when cold if i block off the iscv or do i have to help it a bit with throttle?
