I have had a report back from someone who tried this concept quite some time back with a hand finished adapter. They found no real difference on the dyno which is a real downer to hear. That doesn't mean this isn't worth it though or that it won't work for us though. First up plate matches the different shape of the intake manifold to the ports in the head, effectively acting as a port matching device for the original parts. This may well help to some degree although I wouldn't count on it.
So it may well be completely on what I started earlier on it being for allowing more intake length in regard to some stacks.
I really need a dyno curve showing what going from 50 to 70 or 100mm velocity stacks does.
