hey guys, planning to head to tassie for the targa tasmania next year, trying to get my shit together and get organised, any suggestions as to where to stay, eat, observe?

also avoid most pizza joints, dont eat any self serve hot food from a servo.

if you make it to hobart, the china dinner in moona is fairly rad. muers sea food restaurant on the hobart/ salamanca water front is desenct but maybe a bit expensive, avoid the pontoon fish and chip shops, "flippers" where alright but last time i went there it was shit.

in Launceston, the jail house grill is awesome.

Devonport, KFC is the prob the best one in the state.

in the north of the state, the busier pubs are usually reasonably good for a counter meal.

search "what if" website for accommodation. most hotels should be safe enough, but a few are a little seedy, not that bad that you would get robbed/stabbed tho. more that there maybe a "special service" available. oh cosey cabbins are rather... cosey there are a few about the state.

DON"T go to the china diner unless you want to die of aids/herpes/hep a, b and c/eating your neighbours pet/food poisoning/being stabbed by a bogan.

last time i went there flippers was shit house.. every other time its been tops. the other floating fish shops seem filthy and i wouldnt ever buy from them. id rather take my chances with a mc'crappers burger mid afternoon.

okay im not a mexican so im not a regular to that china place.. noted tho. dont go there then. perhaps the pizza hut eat-in down the road. ive never been stabbed there yet and the food seems decent.

KFC isnt the same everywhere believe me. i know its a chain restaurant but its consistently shit at some places and consistently reasonable at others no matter what time of the day. different management/staff at each store.

china dinner is a big no no...dnt eat there EVER...not even if ur starving and they are offering free feed...

kings buffet in newtown is a big no no aswell...

kfc is different everywhere for sure...as are mcdonalds...seems that staff/manager varies the quality of the food ALOT!!! massive difference between the food locally and then on the mainland...also had reports of it being completely different again around the world...a mate descriped the food in japan as more gourmet than takeaway lol
