possibly my worse fear with my own build...

ill be putting it onto a chassis aligner before it proceeds too far...as thats the last thing i wanna do...assemble it completely, attempt alignment and realise its bent like a banana...

oh well...best of luck with it

Yeah I know Dave... I wasnt expecting it to be as bad as this though....

it's fucking retarded..... I dont reckon there'd even be 2 degree's camber. I reckon the drivers side has about 8 or more lol.

Wont even worry about a turbo at this stage... I think Ill might start looking for a new shell. Maybe a 1UZfe too.

Thanks, I didnt have that luxury with this... I bought it almost finished. And now I have to strip it down.

From roughly measuring it up, I reckon the passerger side is pushed in over 60mm.

I didnt have any issues putting the new LCA's in etc, so I think it's the rail and the tower. I straight-edged the coilover this afternoon and it's fine.

I CBF'd getting it repaired at this stage, but then again with a new shell I might just have the same problems. I dont even want to think about it ATM... I just want a beer. Ive been busting my balls to get this car together and it's been one setback after another.

Will know exactly how bad it all is tomorrow morning.

Well got the car aligned. and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be... Still not great, but at least I wont have to get the car cut to pieces and have it all straightened again.

Im going to have to go to adj. LCA's, as there's about 4 deg neg on the pass side with the sigma LCA and the cambertop maxed to negative, and there's about 5 on the driver's side with the sigma arm and the cambertop at full positive LOL. 5 degrees looks pretty insane LOL. I want to drop it back to about 3 -3.5 deg negative.

I probably should have gone to adj. LCA's straight away, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Expensive lesson to learn, but at least I know it isnt a hopeless cause and Im enthused about the car again. At about 11 last night I was ready to give it all up LOL.

The castor and toe came up good, although i think I got a little too excited and would 4 deg castor into it and it hit's like fuck lol. Might have to back that off a tad.

The RA60 tie rods with the Nobybooth adj tubes and tie rod ends worked wonders though... plenty of adjustment either way, would in 1 deg. total toe out up front.

I attacked the guards too with the roller and a hammer while it was up on the hoist, doesnt scrub very much at all but it needs to be tidied up a lot more. The front guards Im cutting off the flat section to give me more room.

All the coilover height's etc were set, but I think I want the car down an inch or so, but still be lower in the front.

Overall, Im pretty happy, I know what needs to be done, and it's all back on track.Ill be buying a Quaife quick-rack sooner rather than later, and put that in at the same time I do the LCA's. Hoping I dont have any problems with the lock spacer/PS arms, and the super long tie rods. Ill get all that done, re-align the car and hopefully will be all good from there.

    Pics...

Wow, at first I wanted you to remove the kit instead of those 14s, but now it is looking fucking tough, well done man. Just put the wing back on now, even if it only has to come off again later!

havent tried it with the front bar on yet LOL, it's the lower part of the front guard thats rubbing hard. Ill trim the flat section off and try and flare it some more. As you can see in the final pic Ice already pumped the guards a shitload... Good to know more castor is available. i was pretty dissapointed when when could only get 4 or so.

Im starting on the bodywork as soon as the guards/fitment are finish, ill send the wing to a mate of mine to fix, Ill probably just rattle-can it white and put it on again, it can always come off to paint.

Im half way through adjusting the panhard rod and putting the traction brackets right now eddie. Then Ill keep going with the rear guards.

Wouldnt know what the KU31's are like to drive with yet... haven't driven fast or hard enough with them yet. I really liked the KU36's I had on my RX7 though. Although the P716's I had on the back were useless for controlling a 13BT LOL.

Engine I havent even bothered to look at yet, And Im still trying to sort out all the electrical gremlins... like why I have no brakelights, and no normal headlights, just High Beams. Thinking that may have something to do with the HID kit though. Getting there slowly.

Nothing too exciting... Traction brackets are in...

And I adjusted the panhard rod, it's a LOT nicer, still needs a bit more of a tweak though.

I dont think it's going to take too much work to have them tucking really nice. I think Im going to have to get a pro to fix the munted pass. quarter panel though..... it's got more waves than a surfing comp.

Ill adj. the panhard a bit more tomorrow and keep working on the guards.

There wont be much progress for the next couple of weeks due to work being done on the house, bar a Cusco delerin gearknob from AJPS, then Ill be buying a Quaife quick-rack and Kelway adj. LCA's, putting them in and re-aligning the front and finish the guard work off.
