hmmm. well that is slightly different to the ae71... our stock filler neck and rubber is longer, so i cut the ae86 neck even lower, more than half off what you have there, victim if you have pics please post them up??

ok update, with the ae82 cradle removed, and the filler neck removed, the tank fits. so we then put back on the stock ae86 cradle and it fits again, but the filler necks look a little misaligned, but i think that will pull into place with the rubber hose so i'm not worried. so now were going to run a stock '86 cradle with a in tank vl lift pump, and an external pressure pump and surge tank setup. does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap and easily accessible external pressure pump (preferably a quiet one) that will suit our 4age setup? (fresh motor, quads, maybe cams later, adaptronic)

Using the ae82 cradle on the 86 also causes clearance issues. I just manipulated the pipes a little and it fitted ok after.

run an rb30 intank bosch pump, trim a little off the pipe that goes into the tank, slip it on, wire it up and your away. Ran this in my keto feeding a surge tank with no dramas, i hate all the facet and warlbows and crap, they all suck.

my new setup runs a pierburg feed pump to a surge to a boch motorsports pump.

Has anybody tried just bolting on the ae71 filler neck onto the ae86 tank? Im sure it has been tried, and im guessing that its still in the wrong postion, or holes dont line up etc, i just havent ever seen that being ruled out as an option.
Also Joel, it looks like in your photos (the middle one) that the tank is hitting the chassis rail. Is that just because you hadn't done the fuel tank straps up, or is it constantly sitting in that position? If so is that where the stock tank sits? I havent ever really looked under the car at my tank.

    KE70 tank neck:

    AE86 tank neck:

Pretty sure that's where the tank sits. They have a piece of foam/rubber attached to the tank at that spot.
