    Thumbs up So I Bought a 4AGE...

    Car -ae71 pano

    motor - 4ac soon to be 4age

use - not daily but street driven

    problem - I bought a 4age but is missing a few things

    occurs/started when - I bought the 4AGE

personal situation - want to swap the engines ASAP

Okay, So I bought a 4age engine package. Its a smallport (has TVIS and black cam covers) and an ADM t50 to go with it. The problem is it did not come with a few things that are needed to make it run, those things being:
    -starter and mounting bracket
    -alternator
    -flywheel
    -clutch/pressure plate
-also the belt that would go around the water pump etc.

    so my question is:
"what can I use from the 4ac and t40 that I already have to complete the the 4age and what will I need to buy?"
also "where would I acquire the parts I dont have but need?"

If it has tvis, its not a smallport.

Not too much you can use from the 4ac, you could use the starter and sandwitch plate (between the engine and gearbox).

-alternator, find one on these forums, 7m also fit
-flywheel, find one on these forums, 200mm would be the easiest to suit a bigport and try and get flywheel bolts and the bolts that hold the clutch plate on with it
-clutch, buy a new clutch kit from a brake/clutch shop, probably a heavy duty clutch kit to suit an ae86 (adm). That way you get new pressure plate, clutch plate and throw out bearing to suit the gearbox.
-belt, 5PK825 or 5PK830 from repco

What you have is a red-and-black top engine, or cam covers at least. Smallports are redtop as in both both cam covers have red writing.

They are a goofy bigport with 7 rib block and 42mm crank but 9.4:1 comp. ratio.

    ^^thanks that makes sense
Had another look at it this afternoon and definately bigport. I was just confused because when i bought it i was told it was a smallport out of a late model jdm ae86.

so knowing it is bigport now does that change the parts I need to get?

No. Maybe the belt length is different between smallport and bigport.

if it is out of an ae86 then it is a bigport. None of them came with smallports.
