No power to dash to start car

problem - Do not get power when i turn the key

occurs/started when - i tried to leave for work and my car wouldnt start

personal situation - need to go to toilet but thats a bit personal



So i was leaving work on thursday and i went to start my car, put keys in ignition and hit my brake to prime the fuel pump. *thats the way my mate set it up*

And the fuel pump started squirting fuel into engine etc etc

but i had no power!!! my lights still work, its not my battery, my stereo even comes on.

Not too sure where to start to have a look any tips would be great thanks

fuses are the first place to start.

so it doesnt crank at all?

or it cranks but wont fire?

from what it sounds like....

your starter motor does not get power, or does get power and doesnt work, or the connection to the starter is faulty....

does it make a click sound?

if so have a squiz at this:

checked as many fuses as i can and they all seemed fine,

No doesnt even turn over.

I think i have isolated the problem

the Fuse box on the battery terminal when i wiggle that, all the power goes into the car, so i believe there is an issue there, will do a bit of investigating

remove the 13mm (i think) that holds that fuse box, clean the area and refit.

then remove the fuses and clean the spade terminals, refit the terminals. ensure that the terminals are secure in the fuse box housing.

definitely sounds like a loose terminal

i dont think i can read the writing, do they come in different resistance?

only different currents, it will be written on top of the box what rating it is
