4age dies when hitting 6000rpm

Ive got a 4age and i finally got it running perfect. Now when i take it for a drive and rev it above 6000 rpm its just dies until the revs drop back to 2000rpm and then it will take off again.

Could this be a spark or fuel issue has anyone had this problem before or know what is going on?

everyone will tell you to do a diagnosis test on the ecu, so do that.

what was the cause of the previous problem with cyl 3 being out?

you could be running out of fuel. this happened to my mates turbo 4k his lift pump that supplyed the surge tank couldnt keep up with the motor so it would die about halfway up 3rd then he'd have to back off till the tank filled up again

Hmmm that could be causing the problem. Im running a vl external fuel pump and i wanna double check where would be the correct place to mount the pump?

I had it inline with the bottom of the fuel tank and it sounded like it was starving for petrol so now i have moved up above in between the tank and the tunnel and now the fuel Pump sounds abit healthier

hows the pick up for the pump? i would put a fuel guage on it and take it for a drive with someone else to watch it

i thought maybe the fuel tank had shit in it so i pulled it out and cleaned it. still cuts out. could it be fuel pressure?

more than likely the case. did you use a second hand VL pump?

yeah came with the engine when i bought it. forgot to mention its a bigport with tvis removed could it be an air intake error/vacuum?

Not likely. Sounds fuel related, possibly spark too (but doubt it very much).
