hi guy, just a quick question i plain to fit a origin lab front bar to my 86. i need to know what sort of modifications people have done to the front mounts to make it fit nice and strong. thanks

Most kits are made to a kouki bar so you need kouki bumper brackets. You should be able to find the tabs on the kit then line up with the front bar brackets (this is the best way).
Next best is to cut up some zenki/adm brackets and make some tabs that extend to the kouki mounting positions on the kit. This is the strongest cheapest method.
The cheapest is to just cable tie around shit to hold it in position, and probably have a cut up zenki/adm bracket for show (and a bit of deflection if you hit something).

Any legal issues with making a steel bumper support like that? I really like it and want to do something similar.
all bumpers have an element of steel inside of them
but id say that would be illegal since it hasnt been tested for Australian Design Regulations...bla bla bla. (passenger impact testing etc)
pretty sweet design though.
