if you have the ae86 (rwd) loom use it.
Hey all,
B4 ppl say research I have.
I have read a lot of 4age into ke70 threads but my questions is more specific
What is the best loom to use to wire up the 4age into a ke70? Does the whole ae86 loom work?
or is there specific parts of the loom you need to wire into the ke70 loom
Some people have used:
ae82 loom
ae86 loom
when it comes to wiring i honestly have no idea....
if you have the ae86 (rwd) loom use it.
that i do. this was what i was going to do but wondering how much of the loom is not required for a keto..
looking to have a clean engine bay so less wiring the better
you need most of it,
though there is stuff you can get rid of (aircon for example) but it would require untaping the entire loom, stripping out what you dont need, and taping it back up, and then hoping that you didnt strip out something you DO need, and having to do some nice re-doing.
essentially you need everything in this list for the engine to work
was this 4age and loom sho-horned into an ADM 86 before? if so the wiring is EXACTLY the same.

an ae82 loom needs to be resized so that the leads run in the correct direction and end up in the right places.

wiring has: converted 4ac to 4age and a new horn thats it
In an ae86 loom there is nothing anyway. A/C runs through the body/engine bay loom. The only thing that is extra in the ae86 loom is the wiper motor wiring.....
AE82 loom is ok to use, has alternator wiring included as well as a/c wiring but it generally goes in the right direction, just a little too long (not always a bad thing).
AE86 loom is best to use. The firewall plug will need to be changed to suit the ke70 firewall plug (or make a new plug to carry the extra wires of the ae86 loom - ignition and injector power).
