hope this helps
Hey guys,
A while back i remember seing a page with all the different types of 4ages and the specifications of each one.
Does any one have the link or other links?
hope this helps
You only have to know these 6 types of 4A-GE. The rest is getting down to very small details you don't need to know anyway.
-first 16v 4A-GE. "bigport" "T-VIS" Came in AE86, AW11, AE82, JDM AE92 etc.
- 4A-GZE superchanged "bigport". Came in AW11, early AE92 Levin/Trueno
-second 16v 4A-GE "smallport" "100kw". Came in AE92.
- 4A-GZE supercharged "smallport". Has coilpacks. Came in late AE92 and AE101 Levin/Trueno.
- 4A-GE 20valve. "Silvertop" Came in AE101 Levin/Trueno
- 4A-GE 20valve. "blacktop" Came in AE111 Levin/Trueno
That's all you need to know. For power, that is going to depend more on what kid has owned it and whos dyno it was.
Also, coilpacks came out on the early ae92 GZE (afm bigport) as they ran the first CAS setup.

though wasnt there a site that had pics on every single one?
I think its also important to mention the second gen bigport which uses the later bottom end with the larger crank whilst still obviously using the bigport head.
Probably thinking of this one -
thats the link i was looking for, i always loose it.
is the 103kw a jap engine?
The 103kw engine pictured there is often known as the "100kw". It came in all of the Australian assembled AE93 Corolla SX's. America got the AE92 coupe with that engine. It also came in many late model AE92s in Japan that had the 4A-GE. Maybe on Japans high octane fuel (which Australia didn't have at the time) it made 103kw. I don't expect the engine itself would have been any different.
Hey mate there wasn't much difference between Australia & jap, except
Jap one had 10.3:1 comp ratio. Our Ausy one had about 9.3:1 comp ratio.
Hopefully that helps.
