after the collector is best
hi there guys , I getting ready to start my AE71 with the 4age BP & ae86 ecu. I did not get an exhaust with the engine so no 02 sensor.
I bought a set of extractors, so before I do the final fit of exhaust I need to fit the 02 bung.
Firstlyy, where is the best spot for the 02 sensor in a N/A car. I the extractors are a 4-1 system so should mount after the collector or in only 1 of the primaries.
Sencondly, what 02 sensor to use. I found this single wire universal.
What are people using?
I'm need 1 to start with until I can afford a wideband. I will get a Innovate Motorsport LC1 like I have in my VR4.
Thanks in advance.
I'm using a Bosch Premium O2 sensor, mines's mounted close to the flange before the collector pipe
after collector is best for 4 wire types Andy, but they have their own heater. single wire sensors need hotter exh gases to keep them in spec so they usually go in number one or number two primary, about 25cm from the port.
Yeah, using a single wire on trd copies just after collector would work 50% and the other 50% throw a code.
Solved by using a 3wire (2wires for heating) O2

dont waste your time with the 02 if your running factory management i use the innovate motorsports lc-1 its a good bit of kit very cheap and available in the country for about 200 that way you can log the afr or lambda and when you upgrade to aftermarket management then you can tune the sucker yourself mount the sensor after the collector either on the side or the top
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
just wondering...i have changed the exhaust system on levin...extractors that got fitted had no bung so i unplugged the sensor and have carried on since with no problems...should this be re fitted...what may come of it by not re connecting it...im just running the stock computer and 4age..?
it will chew a bit more fuel as it wont "trim" lean out as much while cruising
in actual fact it wont do anything unless you get a new o2 sensor as the old sensor is probably ratshit they dont last more thank 50,000kms before you have to replace them
