oil cooler sandwich plate for 4ac

hey,

I heard a rumor that a 4age oil cooler sandwich plate will fit straight in on a 4ac is this correct? if it dose would I be correct in thinking that other sandwich plates that suit 4ag would also fit 4ac (16v ones)?

I would really rather one that had a inlet and outlet on the sandwich plate as I'm not keen on drilling my sump for a return line, dose a standard one have inlet/outlet on the plate?

also would a drop in oil small drop of oil pressure due to the oilcooler be harmful?

thanks, there has been a lot of questions in the past about oil coolers etc I know, I got a lot of results on my search, but I didnt get the answers if was after.

don't think anything that fits on 4age would fit on 4ac, as the 4ac oil filter (and there for the port) is a lot larger.
My sandwhich plate is straight off a 20v, so it would also be vice versa if thats one of your questions.

I want to pay as little as possible alsong is has and inlet and outlet on the plate.

anyone recomend a brand/model I wonder if they would even make one for 4ac... possably in america

a sandwich plate is just that, it get sanwiched between the oil filter and block. FYI most aftermarket oil cooler kits come with a 3/4" metric hole which fits toyota/nissan/ford/holden

also a 4ac wont need an oilcooler.

I'd be very suprised if 4AC and 4AGE oil fittings were different. Though I can't check til this evening. Maybe someone could cross reference the filters used.

Only the factory bypass cooler returns to the sump. All (ok, most) aftermarket setups use a full flow cooler.

not what I asked was it..? I wasnt asking for opinions on where is was nessesary. yes I know it's winter, I also live in tassie. just preparing for summer. I'm also going to be doing more track days and continuing with my hills work.

thats what I thought, I would check myself bu I don't have a sandwich plate handy and I don't know nayone who would or I would do this myself

I have to disagree with v-tech.

A standard oil cooler sandwich plate from a AE82 or AE95 or AE92 corolla will fit a 4A-C. To use this you also need a return hole in the sump. You are best to take the sump off, drill a big hole, and weld a nut to the inside of the hole.

Otherwise use a full flow aftermarket sandwich plate.

A Z386 oil filter will fit almost every Toyota car.

early 4age and 4ac are same block no reason why it shuldnt fit

I removed my standard adm sandwich plate on my ge cause I did not have a cooler at the time. I un-screwed the oil filter/sandwich plate fitting bolt, and removed the sandwich plate. I then unscrewed the 4ac oil filter fitting bolt and fitted it to the 4age. Then blocked up the return line with a closed bit of hose. Therefore, in answer to your question yes it will fit.
