for that brake setup, you'll have to stick with the XT130 struts unless the XT130 hubs bolt to the AE86 struts, which i am pretty sure they dont.
Hey guys i am trying to get my ae86 lowered and finding it an hard time getting the parts needed. My front driveline setup consists of xt130 corona struts/pug discs /hilux calipers and the rear is just stock ae86 suspension. What i wanna do is run shorter stroke shocks/struts on back and front with superlow springs. How do i go about this setup ?? do i use lows on the front and superlows on the back to make it level out ?
Also since my car has got corona xt130 front struts now could i go back to the ae86 front struts or does it have to use the corona struts with this previous mod.
Thanks for reading

i dunno if its only for ke70 or ae86
Thats what i thought no idea about it and dont wanna waste money on getting ae86 struts when they wont fit. How about the springs max ? to get it level lows on front and superlows on back ?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (reecegze @ Jan 6 2008, 03:19 PM) </div>Are you talking about the strut inserts or the strut casing / stub axle itself? From memory AE86 inserts and XT130 inserts are interchangable. It can also depend on how the strut conversion has been done. The XT130 strut / spring will not fit in the AE86 strut tower, so most people when doing this conversion will convert the strut to coilover to get around this. Another way is to put the AE86 spring perch on the XT130 strut tube, then just use AE86 springs. You will have to find out what has been done to yours so you know what spring to use.
For the back, use falcon springs, or King KTRL-34/250. Cut them shorter to make it lower. Use shorter Monroe shocks 153138 which are to suit a XT130.
For the front use falcon or Kings springs I guess. Due to your slightly custom setup you just have to install them and cut to length.
For front shock use Monroe 25-0341 and use a spacer inside the strut tube about 60mm to make up the difference. These shorter shocks are from a ST162 Celica.
It is better to go to coilover setup on the front. For this, cut off the spring mount, shorten the strut tube about 40mm, weld on a coilover thread kit, fit the short shocks with a ~20mm spacer, buy King 65mm ID springs about 200 or 250mm long, and about 300lb. But you will want better shocks than Monroe on the front with stiff springs.
The XT130 strut insert is about 2mm longer than the AE86 one, so you can't use a XT130 shock in a AE86 strut tube.

I could not get it to fit.
Thanks for the replies , to be honest i wouldn't have a clue to whether the setup has been fully converted , only knew to rwds the guy i bought it off said it has xt130 struts so i am assuming its the whole strut assembly. I might just go ahead and get shorten strut and shocks and buy xt130 lowered springs and rear ae86 springs. I thought cuttings springs was kind of a dodgey thing ?? it seems coming from a bloke that knows hes stuff it cant be to bad aye ?
