what are the rims made of? are they steel, alloy, chrome dipped??
i would just some sort of kill rust paint or something similar from bunnings. make sure it is an all in one primer paint

i think he means, 175s wont do much for you in the way of grip.
steelies no problems. depending on how bad they are, grind them than sand them starting with about 80 grit than go 180 grit. than rust convertor than paint.
done!
well it's raining here in canberra. i went for a drive before and it was good. Back slides out (easily) with no understeer at the front......
