    Thumbs up

i need to find the check connector to short 2 pins (E1&T) to do a base timing.
but i couldn't find it anywhere?
is there a one in my engine loom?
could it be near the ECU under the dash board?

and what type 4age is my engine? i have been told is it a big-port from an AE82, but not 100% sure.
83kw? black&red top? 7 ribs? notice the dizzy cap is different to the black&blue top.

    thanks for help

little box with a curved little, says diagnosis on it, should be around your super responsive sticker inside or out.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (driftke70 @ Jun 2 2008, 10:25 PM) </div>Kinda correct although the ae82 bigport never had that box (afaik it was on a kouki ae86 loom).

Your engine is a ae82 bigport bluetop (with your cam covers painted obviously). Your dizzy cap is correct for an ae82 bigport bluetop (only jdm rwd bluetop's have the different dizzy/cap).

Now to answer your question, it is in the cluster of 3 yellow plugs below your SR sticker. The one you are looking for has a blue/white wire(T) and brown wire(E1). Bridge them together, your idle will drop so you can set the base timing

    thanks nikkojoe
no wonder i couldn't find it

so 10 degrees BTDC still stands for base timing on this engine?
and when birdge is off, it should be 16 or more BTDC, right?

I can't remember if its 0 or 10deg when bridged but it usually increases by 10 when not bridged

what is the need for bridging E1&T? sending the signal to ECU for base timing?
can i just adjust it to 16 degrees BTDC with a timing light, without bridging E1&T?
