    hey guys,

ill be brief and to the point,

    -big port 4age
    -idles at 1600rpm when hot
    -65mm throttle body
-no cold start or idle advance
-0 vacuum hoses connected to the throttle body
    -tps set correctly
-idle screw all the way down to lowest point

now ive given the jist of how my engine is set up, i beleive ive done what i can to make it as low as possible but theres one thing id like to know, whats this so called sandwhich plate that can be made up to block of some vacuum holes or somthing? I'm vague on this information if anyone can fill me in id be greatful

yes i have done a search and couldnt find the info i needed

    cheers,

    stefan

    First off, wrong forum

Next, by zero vac hoses do you mean that all the fittings have been blocked off where the lines should be?.

The plate people say goes between the base of the throttle body and the cold start valve (which has the water lines that go to it). You can make a metal plate OR get some really thick gasket paper and just block it off with that.

Does it idle alright when its cold? Because thats my problem at the moment. I've got none of the factory cold start stuff and to get an acceptable cold idle I have to have a high warm idle.

I have set up one of the idle up valves to a switch so that I can turn it on for cold start, but now I'm about to put in a bigger valve so I can lower the warm idle some more while still having an okay cold idle

    checked ya base timing?

advanced timing will make it idle high

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yoshimitsu9 @ Jun 5 2008, 04:17 PM) </div>Before you do, spray some form of carby cleaner or "start ya barstard" around gasket areas while the car is running, and listen for changes in engine note/rpm. If it changes, thats where your leak is

its either got a vacumn leak, or maybe your cold start injector is leaking???

timing will also cause it to idle high ie to far advanced.

throttle cable adjusted correctly and not holding the throtle open?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (slide86 @ Jun 5 2008, 11:26 PM) </div>If throttle were sticking that far open, tps would usually pick it up and therefore it would not bounce

Bouncing rpm is air leak related/tps
