Default Not happy with new tune/power

    From the start....

Well get this..... My 86 was tuned at Gentech (Canberra) 3-4 years ago. Back then, it had a shitty fuel pump, 365c injectors, and was tuned at 162rwkw, but rev limited to 6200rpm cause it was starting to lean out after that...........

Last year, it was put on the ESP (Canberra) dyno at a dyno day. It made 147rwkw, but was running lean, and they only would run it once..........
Since then (6 months ago), I fitted a new fuel system, consisting of, custom swirl pot inside tank, bosch 910 pump (400hp rated) and surge tank........
This week, I took my car back to Gentech, for them to fit 440c injectors and tune it to suit (ie more fuel delivery and raise the rev limiter from 6200 to where it should be).... I got it back yesterday.. It only made 141rwkw and he didn't raise the rev limiter any higher cause it wasn't making any more power after that....... I am annoyed.....

Is this poor tuning, or a reflection of my setup?

    Specs of my motor:

    ENGINE: 10,000kms approx since rebuild

Late model Smallport 4AGZE, T25G Turbo, RaceTec manifold, 440c Injectors (7MGTE), Microtech LT 10s (with hand controller), Front mount Intercooler, Golpher Aluminium Race type radiator, 9 row oil cooler with Speedflow fittings, Blitz Blow Off, 3" dump pipe, Full 2 and half inch Exhaust system, Alloy catch can, some braided lines with Speedflow fittings, 3A Racing Pod filter

    FUEL SYSTEM:
Custom modified fuel tank with intank swirl pot (from 45aken's Lemon 86) , VL lift pump, 1.5L undercar surge tank, Bosch 910 main pump (380hp) and bigger undercar fuel line.

Personally it maybe a little of both.

Whats your fuel pressure, is the regulator working (don't assume) find out.

And a 1.6ltr with a t25 id say you wouldn't see anymore then 150-170 anyways, but should be all the way too at least 7200. What psi is it set at. 7,8,9,10,11,12??

Perhaps that 162kw figure was never right.

Rev limited because it doesnt make anymore power tells me something. You have a restriction somewhere. Id say the 3" dump too 2.5" isnt helping.

My old setup with 2.5in zorst and a T28 with cams made 186 at 14psi.
Didn't actually stop making power, redlined it at 8500rpm for reliability :p

Its is almost meaningless to compare power between different dynos. At the end of the day a dyno is just a tuning tool not a definitive measure of power.

How does your car actually feel to drive, is there a noticeable decrease in power? Or are you upset that you got a printout with a smaller number on it. Also look at the area under the curve if your car was peaky before but now has a much broader power band i would say that is a good thing. Having said that though 21kw does seem like an awe-full lot of power, is it the same dyno with the same calibration?

If your car is genuinely down on power first thing I'd do is a compression test.

What brand was the first dyno?
What brand was the second dyno? I know all dyno's read different but you can put huge differences down to different dyno brands.

    Check cam timing.
What does a racetec manifold look like?
Did it not any *more* power or did power drop after 6200?
    Boost level?

Post up the maps on the microtech.

upgrade your turbo for starters t25g is not goining to get you past 160kw. My 4agte bigport gze makes 161 kw on 1bar of boost. It has all the supporting mods and advanced timing. If i add more boost it doesnt make much more power due to the stock valve springs and stock cams. It makes 161rwkw,147kwand 173kw on 3 different dynos. The power figure is just an estimation. If you run 4.7 diff ratio like me youll love the response and power band
