    Default 20V ISCV and Trumpets

I cant seem to find the info I am looking for....

I am installing aftermarket trumpets (SamQ) on a 20V.
The engine had just the standard plastic ones before (no plenum), with cyl #1 funnel having a sensor and pipe to the ISCV in it, then went to the ISCV, then up to the back of the motor.

Do I remove the ISCV? Block off pipes? Re-route somewhere else? I dont know much about ISCV

The motor is being transplanted into another shell, and is not quite ready for it to being able to run yet, so I cant test this yet. Just wanted to know now, so I can have it all ready to go....

The engine runs a LINK aftermarket ECU....

    Thanks

    You still want the ISCV.

Remove the line that goes from the plenum to the ISCV (since it won't be of any use now), and put a little air filter on the ISCV where the vacuum tube went on (an oil-catch-can filter works well).

The other tube going up to the motor (vacuum rail) from the ISCV remains the same as before though.

I have to disagree with you there Seamus, if they are cleaned out and hooked up right then maybe keep them. I myself have found no issue at all without running one, so I personally don't see the point unless there was power steer and an air con in the mix.

now Maxhag, as Seamus said put one of those small crankcase breathers on it, however check that it's actually connected and used wit your ecu. I guess the easiest way is to run your engine and then unplug to see if theres a change. Otherwise just plug that port in the end of the chamber on top of the intake manifold

    What he said ^^

I use the ISCV on my 16v with Quads. Its controlled thru the aftermarket ECU to give a good idle at all times. Handy on a heavily modded engine.
And I left it connected on my 20v too. It's not plugged into the ECU, but it defaults to 50% open so you can close all your idle screws and just let the ISCV supply the engine with air at idle.

Also, What have people found best to use for filters on these trumpets, that retains good flow pattern?

I see alot of videos/pics of people not using filters, just the trumpets. Good/bad? The car is going to be a TRACK ONLY KE70.....

I think those big filters which fit over all the trumpets offer the best flow.

Uni filter socks are pretty awful, I have run no filters for the past 8 months.

i used some metal flywire and air filter mesh on the outside as a filter for my 20v with trumpets. i put these between the trumpets and throttle bodies so it looked like running no filters. worked pretty well

I found that when I left mine uplugged it would vary all over the place, some days 3000rpm and others stalling. I know someone else who had the exact same problem, why not just plug it and tighen the throttle a bit more?
