13btt ae86... anyone done this? any photos,ideas, recommendations?

Hey guys and dolls. I am midway through fitting a 13btt from a series6 rx7 into my 84adm ae86. It's going pretty smoothly, but i was just wondering if anyone has done this conversion or is aware of any snags/problems to look out for? Mainly to do with the front crossmember in relation to the sump on the 13b. Do you need to make a new crossmember or modify the existing one? Any help, opinions, photos, would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, have fun.. cheers, crispi

Many years ago, my brother and I put a series 4 13B turbo into a Blue AE86, we sectioned the sump to clear the AE86 cross memeber, that was about the only hassle, we also made up engine mounts(side mount), we used a Series 5 HKS dump pipe which worked out really nicely, this was a number of years ago and we did it on the cheap, 12A turbo dissy(has ign retard on boost) and Haltec fuel only, still kicked ass tho. We drag raced it and got a 12.4, it was on the bump stops with 40 profile tyres so a little of stuffing around with the rear end would of netted better times. It ran stock turbo and about 10psi boost, I did some mods to the throttle body set up to remove restrictions, it made about 184kw at the wheels which was quite good for our dodgy backyard operation

Rocket industries sell an alloy Moroso Sump sump for 13BT

It says up to 83 toyota's but might pay to check with them to see if it fits.
I was under the impression that this sump was used on the rotaflo AE86 a few years back now.

I don't know if this helps, but I got an RX3 front engine cross member (pre 13BT) and sat it in the engine bay of my ADM86 and the thing lined up perfectly with the 4 sway bar bolts and even matched up on the raised sway bar indentations...This would work with a 12AT timming cover installed on a 13BT. I've got pictures somewhere...Only thing that worried me was it was a bit light duty for something that would be pushing 200+ RWHP.



The only thing you would need to do is fabricate a new engine plate (plate that sits on the engine mounts that bolts to the timing cover) to sit the engine back further.
