    Default I shouldn't, But I did - My 3rd AE86

It was bound to happen at some point, and it has.... For sometime, I have wanted another track spec AE86, I have one already that is set up well for Hillclimbs, Track days etc.... But it doesn't drift well, and I have wanted to build a simple, dedicated drift car.

So, I picked up this shell from John84ie another local 86 nut..... He bought the car as a complete running car, and then parted it out. I was interested in the bare/basic shell. We came to a deal....

I picked up the rolling body yesterday, but the s13 suspension front end and the T series were not included and I need to give them back. Not to worry, as I am currently building a KE70 drift car, I will scrap that body and use all my parts in the new 86.
The shell is amazing. It has had a full bare respray and rust proof sealed completely. Totally straight panels, and amazing quality paint.... I have been told by countless people, that its too good to drift it.... haha, fuck that......

Here is how I got it:

The paint looks heaps better than the photos show. The pics look all washed out and the car has dirty rain on it....

    Day 1:

First was to seal the car up. Time to raid my AE86 parts stash!!!!!!!!
I picked my best pair of side mirrors and ADM tailights, and fitted them both up. Looking good already

I started by pulling the whole Nissan frontend out. I dropped it all down, and wheeled the dirty Nissan parts away

Next, I pulled my coilovers out of the KE70, and fitted them up. The coilovers are from TRD in Japan, with TRD 8kg springs, Cusco camber tops and Japanese DG-5 inserts....

Then fitted up the engine crossmember and caster rods and brackets, and a Whiteline 24mm fully adjustable swaybar.
Next I had the fun job of packing the brand new wheel bearings, swapping Civic rotors onto AE86 hubs (for my RX7 brake kit), fitting up brand new braided brake lines and fitting up hub and rotors......

Some goodies. XT130 LCAS, New ball joints, New wheel bearings, AJPS caliper bracket, PS arms

    Rust proofing undercar:

    End of day....

close to it I cant spot any dents at all, paint looks faultless except for a few runs on the underside the ducktail, but you cant see there anyway.... High quality job.... Looks to be many hours or dollars spent by someone....

Shame I bought it as a drift car, it would make a really nice street car......
