Hi,

I have a AE101 4agze engine in my car on which the oil filter is mounted on some sort of OEM adaptor block. (as show here:)

A similar adaptor block is used on the 4agze engines from mr2's only that one has some additional fittings to use with an OEM oil cooler. The adaptor block on my engine does not have additional fittings.

My question is;
Is it possible to mount the oil filter directly onto the block eliminating the adaptor block? As show in picture below:

I think it should be possible by using the threaded bit where the oilfilter normally screws onto and screwing that in the engine block rather then in the adaptor block.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I tried my best to explain the situation so hopefully it's all clear!
