Im not sure man! that bay was never that clean, although when it was stolen and the turbo 20v blew up,
oil did go everywhere out the catchcan this wouldn't of helped.

I had huge issues with axle tramp! even when it was 4ac and 4age.

    my solution:

2 extra leaves in the pack, then i had them flattened/lowered by a spring joint
Then added hilux bottom leaf cut in half and clamped to pack.
Never tramped with this setup, and was quite grippy for a leaf rear. (after rectifying pinion angle)

Pics of what i mean in here

FYI I welded sedan swaybar mounts to the inside of the chassis rails they suit VN commo sway bar.
I also looked into Panhard, it would have to be very short, as there is f**k all room behind the diff due to fuel tank position.

Good luck with coilover rear man! should be much better than any modified leaf setup i would think!

Sounds like it took some effort to finally get it to a point where you where happy with leave's.

Like you my approach is going to be reset lower, stiffen with extra leaves - but also use tramp rods.
There are weld together kits available

Haha, yeah, it's a bit of a joke hey........ This will be the third chassis I have put this motor into........... I have made the loom virtually plug and play, its literally only takes 10 minutes to wire this setup up ;P

Why keep the curtains if you aren't even going to have sex in it?

    UPDATE:

Between my 3 current builds and my customers cars, I dont get as much time to work on the van as I would like, but here is some progress..... These pics are 2 weeks old. I have done alot more to the car, Engine is in, fuel lines done, fully wired up, R32 brake master fitted with lines to suit........ More pics tomorrow

After very extensive cleaning of all the baked on "black shit" in the engine bay, it was finally ready for action.......
    Bay prepped for paint -

    Bay painted -

Before I started, I didn't realise the Panelvans used a differant gearbox mount to other AE71's.. My custom made W58 X member that ive used for AE86s and AE71 wagon wouldn't bolt up... I checked the cars ID plate, to learn that these actually came with T40 g/boxes... Anyway, I made up a W58 -> AE71 P/van g/box member.......

More pics of engine etc tomorrow.....
