Yeah, its only there for a bit. I wanted it to say Corolla on there somewhere when I rolled over the pits but I couldn't find a gtv sticker kit at the time...

Im still yet to order the other GTV door sticker and stuff yet, plus skirts and jet engine etc etc so Ill fix that up around that sort of time frame, got to pay rego for the evo and it desperately needs new brake pads,
whatever pads the dealer put on it are THE WORST for sequel I have ever heard! Tried the anti noise sprays and everything!

I haven't actually bought them yet, but I tracked down the part numbers for the genuine stickers from Toyota. They aren't exactly inexpensive either, so they aren't priority 1 Just yet. I have been remounting the bump strip on the sides, I also need to pull the gearbox to tidy up a few odds and ends (fix remote oil, replace some coolant hoses etc) unfortunately work basically gets in the way of everything

In other news I should be receiving some redlines this week

I really need to sell off all the assorted parts I have so that I can get some cash-flow back to this project. After I had paid off the Z I had starting putting more cash into savings as I have a wedding coming up, but when I sold the Z I needed a new loan to get the EVO so Im back in debt land and still putting that extra to savings.... responsible, but painful too.

TTZ32 Driver at todays Motorkhana

Hey there internet land,

Just a quick update on whats been happening with my 86.

To be honest the car kinda got parked for a while there as I was super busy with work and the missus car is on a lease and needs to do a lot of kays so I had been driving it.

And despite only working 15 days out of every 28 those days seem to magically line up with most of the track events I want to go to.

Anyway, so I bought some new skid rims and headed out to the twilight drift in august. I was pretty concerned when I first turned up as there were cars everywhere! So, I was thinking I would only get a couple of runs, luckily enough for me, most people only wanted to use the wet down skidpan. That meant plenty of runs on the peanut track... In fact my rear tires would probably argue too many runs on the peanut track...


I did manage to get out on the wet pan once though and that was mainly so I could give my old man a go at shotgun. Somehow we also fluked it and made a 3 out of 4 Toyota group, which probably only happened the one time on the night...




I also got to go out with some of the 86 lads on the peanut track, however as it was dark I didn't bother with my video cameras because they suck in low light, unfortunately it would seem everyone else didn't bother with cameras either

Anyway, got home and had a giggle at the mist of rubber on my rear bar, although Im sure its nothing on what some of you guys end up with, you gotta also keep in mind it had rained on the car etc since the drift day too:



So then I finally finished getting the correct stickerset on the car to return it to pretty much factory, I decided the best way to celebrate that was to attend the MG Car Club Motokana on Sunday...



Now all I need is factory skirts with pods and to put my topstage lip back on the front bar and Ill be pretty much done with cosmetics.

Massive thanks to the guys at AEU86 store for the stickers, they seriously went above and beyond when it comes to customer service and the products were very high quality also. Remember guys if you need stickers like this to hit these guys up, most importantly if they go out of business you pretty much wont be able to get these types of stickers any more!

Here are also a couple of vids of my car at the motokhana, I learned a lot on the day about motokhana. Its hard to tell from the videos but these courses are REALLY tight, in my first few runs I had decided on 2nd gear before I headed out and that really wasn't the right idea, even with most of the torque of the GZE being down low it was laboring for a lot of the course and would spike up once the wheels started spinning. By later in the day I had just resigned to 1st gear and ended up having a lot more fun as well as getting better results.

There are more videos to come from my on-board cameras, but I am in Sydney atm and the bandwidth here makes for very slow uploads to youtube. I am hoping to be a little fancier with those videos too, but we'll see if I have the right software or not...

Also if your interested here is a video of a few of the other competitors, there were around 45 cars in the field and this is by no means all of them, problem is my 'normal' video camera is getting pretty old and the footage gets intermittent when the battery is low, which it was because I forgot to charge it until the morning of the event



For those not familiar with the GT4 at the start of the clip, it sports a RWD Twin Turbo 1UZ conversion and makes 1 or 2 more wats than my car

So yeah, the car is getting some use and keep an eye out for the other videos in the next day or two when I get back to Canberra!
