I dodged a bit of a bullet on the weekend....
My intank fuel pump/pickup assembly broke off inside the tank while I was driving. Luckily I was just driving in traffic, and not under boost.
After getting it back to the yard, Pretty easy to diagnose when you have 0 fuel pressure on the gauge. lol
After dropping the tank, and pulling out the pickup assembly, its a bit hard to suck fuel with no pump. hahahahahahahhahahahah
The internal pump holder welds had snapped off the top cover. Pretty strange...
Anyway, I have a custom modified tank from my Gold AE86 track car (R.I.P) that was made for drift purposes with swirl pot/baffles etc , thats just sitting there waiting to go in to this car. Now seemed like a good chance to install it with a new pickup/pump assembly I made up.
All back together now. No more fuel smell in the car, fuel pump is quiet again, and the drift tank is now in its home.....

I agree..... Who's in charge here?
1974 MX22 MARK II CORONA HARDTOP COUPE - Awaiting a full restoration
Ok, well it's been ucking ages since I've done an update. I dont have a camera either, so limited to just text for now....
In the last few months I've fixed up alot of things about the car I was not happy with....
Firstly, I changed the turbo as the previous one was howling at high revs. I have fitted up another S13 T25, but this turbo seems a bit down on power, but at least its balanced right..... Its great as you are pretty much always boosting, but runs out of puff up high.
I have also stripped out the front interior, carpet etc, so the whole car is stripped out.... (had front half custom interior before)... After pulling all the interior out, I wanted to fix up the transmission tunnel and shifter area. The craftsmanship was not up to my standard...... I went and cut the trans tunnel out of a S14, and I have welded it into the car. came up well and can use the S14 shifter boot etc..........
Next job was to make my dual rear caliper setup for the rear and install a hydro E-brake. I run a modified Borgwarner VS commodore diff setup and brakes (custom billet axles, mini spool, 4:11 c&p). Now, these brakes are super easy to make dual caliper setups on.... Simply, you get a second pair of the stock caliper brackets, and cut both sets in half vertically, and weld a left and a right side together, giving you 2 lots of mounts ...... I have used a second set of stock VS calipers for the hydro too, and they seem to work very well...... Cost me $50 for the VS calipers and second brackets![]()
, and did the work myself. Hydro E-brake is welded to the trans tunnel, with remote reservoir in the engine bay.....
LEFT/BEFORE - RIGHT/AFTER:
^^ I forgot to tighten the fitting on the reservior when I first filled it and it leaked some brake fulid onto the paint :/ Oh well.......
Visually on the exterior, I have now painted the front and rear bars black..... The rear bar has been changed to a Vertex bar, as I smashed the red Origin rear bar to pieces :/
I have also changed the exhaust. I removed the CAT and rear muffler, and fitted up some nice blast pipes.... Sounds like a real tractor now, but tone is good.
Now, I have been running the S13 front end suspension for 2 years now, and I have not got it handling like it should despite my efforts to make it work well..... So, I have pulled out all the S13 front gear and S13 castor mount setup etc...... The rack I had had bad play and knocking too, which needed replacing...
I am reverting back to Toyota geometry.... I have installed my GReddy suspension setup front and rear.....
I have replaced everything up front. Fitted New Superpro rack bushes, new RA60 tierods, new RA60 rackends, AJPS lock spacer, Power steering arms, Whiteline adjustable swaybar, T3 NCRA's (had to use NRCA's so the caliper would clear the swaybar on full lock, XT130 LCA's with new ball joints and new poly LCA bushes, low kms KE70 rack, new caster rod bushes and fitted up a Whiteline strut brace to replace the crappy ebay S13 drilled out one......
The car feels like a different car....... 10 fold better.... I am convinced S13 gear is shit in 86's now......
I will try to get some pics up soon for those following.....

I entered the Cooma Hillclimb on the weekend... They hold it on a closed off public road that goes up Mt Gladstone, just out of Cooma, NSW.
My times were average, but I had really old semi's and getting traction was an issue...
There were 3 AE86's that came from Canberra. Steve Pembrey's 2GR V6 AE86, Airocobra's (Bob) 16v Bigport track AE86 and my car.... All 3 cars are red![]()
This was NOT a drift event, but Steve being Steve, he was running the wall on that last turn....
Here is a video or two....
And a few pics....
This was a Twincharged 4A Clubman. The motor is a unopened 4AGZE motorIt is claimed to be making 270rwkw
