Default Ke70 left field engine conversion

Ok so no flames straight away. Had a random thought, now we all know how expensive a small port 4ag swap is getting so I had a thought a ca18de conversion. 1.8l so a little more torque then a 4age, cheap as chips, good aftermarket support and with a ca bell on an rb box shifter should be in factory hole.
I know we all love 4Age and some of us hate datsun motors but it's just a thought and maybe a discussion is on the table....

Speaking of left field conversions, but has anyone thought about the new Ford Eco-boost engines? 4cyl, 2L, turbo, 205kw, 380NM torque from factory, Twin-Independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT).....

Built to have the performance of a V6, but with less fuel consumption.....

Some modern motor would be cool but cost is prohibitive when th suggested motor is a ca18de. That motor, or a vq35, alloytec, xgr-fse would be cool. I know the Vq is pretty standalone but I don't about the rest and will probably need a sandalone ecu.

I've always wanted to do vg30de or ecotec motor.

I know ca18 is dirt cheap but if you're going to the effort of a Nissan motorswap, mod the crossmember to take standard ca mounts and brackets so that if you get sick of it, you can bolt in a sr20de if you find one cheap enough. gives you the option of rb20 if you're that way inclined.

Too many things to consider and custom fab work (may work out if you do all the work yourself).
with the 4age, pretty much a bolt in job.

    Ie.
    Custom Engine crossmember and mounts
    Custom Gearbox Crossmember and mounts
    Custom Tailshaft
    Mod tranny tunnel?
Diff (more power, maybe need to rack off the tiny borgy for something stronger)
Brakes (more power, more weight, tiny gridlocks)
    Suspension
    Custom Engine loom
    Custom Radiator
    30kw club

I see the merit in a CA conversion.
Rebuild is cheap. Smash the compression up and clean out the head.
More capacity. Can you itb that shit?

    Yeah do it.

I would imagine you could run itbs with a adaptor and some management pretty easy. Best thing for me about the swap is that
It's already rwd so nonfucking around with water pumps and coolant hoses. Plus they are 98kw standard so I would imagine would drive pretty similar to a small port with a bit more torque...

If I was doing another conversion I'd be looking at an autech sr20de+t setup...high comp turbo glory

I have an autech in my ke and its great with the high comp. I considered the possibility of a small turbo and putting a bit of boost through it oneday but can't justify the cost when I could sell my package and buy a det cheaper. It would be awesome though if money wasn't a issue

4age is the obvious choice imo! ive got a ca18det powered ke70 and its really not as simple as buying a ca18 and dropping it in, unless your a handy welder/fabricator. either way id say its going to cost you just as much. You might get the ca18 cheap but the crossmembers and tailshaft will probably make up the difference. The other consideration is the support for NA ca18 isn't there like it is for NA 4age as far as aftermarket parts it. 4a's are only expensive because they are so suited keep ur eyes peeled occasionally I see cheaper ones.
